Resumen:
There have been recent reports [Zheludev et al., Phys. Rev. B 50, 11508 (1994)] that bulk GaAs in equilibrium can display gyrotropic linear dichroism due to symmetric terms linear in the light wave vector in the dielectric function. Here, we argue otherwise.
