Resumen:
The acastomorph calmoniid trilobite Andinacaste Eldredge and Branisa, 1980, has been kown from basal devonian (Lower Lochkovian) of Bolivia. Andinacaste espejensis n. sp. is described from probable Lower Devonian Lochkovian strata of the Los Espejos Formation in the Precordillera of San Juan Province, is the first Argentine record ofthis genus. Accordingly. Andinacaste is identified as typical component of basal devonian trilobite assamblages over a broad geographic range in Andean South America.
