Resumen:
A new calmoniid trilobite, Tormesiscus n.gen., includes species of Lochkovian to Emsian age from the Talacasto Formation, Precordillera of San Juan, Argentina. The absence of etes, position of eye ridges, and morphology of the thoracopygidium indicate a sister group relationship with the South African Typhloniscus Salter, 1856. New species from the Talacasto Formation are the Lochkovian type species, Tormesiscus hildae n. gen. n. sp., and the Emsian T. gloriae n. gen . n. sp. Tormesiscus gloriae co-occurs with Camonia chilcaensis n.sp. in the uppermost part of the Talacasto Formation, providing an Argentine record of a genus known from Emsian strata of Brazil, Uruguay, and Bolivia
