Resumen:
PALYNOLOGYOF THE SAN TELMO FORMATION AT THE SAN ANTONIO RANGE,SALTA PROVINCE,ARGENTINA.New palynological information reeovered from the middle part of the San Telmo Formation, upper part of the Mandiyutí Group, at the San Antonio range, Argentinean portion of the Tarija basin, ispresented. Sixty five species of indigenous palynomorphs were identified, together with reworked specimensfrom the Upper Devonian and also Lower Carboniferous levels. The age of the indigenous assemblageis Late Carboniferous (~ Stephanian) and it ean be eorrelated with a similar assernblage, from theouterop of the Caraparí river at the Aguaragüe range. The age and eorrelation of the Mandiyutí Group isextensively diseussed in order to reject a Early Carboniferous age suggested by some authors
