Resumen:
New trilobites from the Lipeón Formation are here described. They include Flexicalymene? vaccarii sp. nov, Lichas argentinus sp. nov. Anacaenaspis sp. Ananaspis sp. This fauna suggests a Llandovery-early Wenlock age fro the basal levels of the upper member of the unit. An age no younger than Ludlovian for the upper levels is inferred. Paleobiogeographic affinitites of the trilobite fauna suggest a larg number of cosmopolitan forms. The differences between the fauna from the Lipeón Formation and that from the Precordillera may be attributed to environmental differences.
