Bergicoris, a new genus for neotropical species previously placed in Cnemodus Herrich-Schaeffer, and a new species from Argentina (Heteroptera: Lygaeoidea: Rhyparochromidae)

Bergicoris, a new genus within the Myodochini is proposed to accommodate B. albimaculus Berg, new combination, and B. multifarius Berg, new combination, and a new species from Argentina. Berg´s species were originally described from Argentina, Bolivia and Uruguay, and assigned to Cnemodus. The male syntype of Bergicoris albimaculus is here designated as the lectotype. A photograph of habitus of the species and illustrations of male genitalia are presented. A key to separate the three species of this new genus is given.
