Resumen:
Ag-ETS-10 samples were prepared by ion exchange from AgNO3 solutions of different concentrations. A number of characterization techniques (inductively coupled plasma, scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, X-ray diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, N2 physisorption, UV-vis, Fourier transform infrared, and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy) have been employed to correlate the Ag content in the Ag-ETS-10 samples with their main features and with their behavior in the adsorption of propane and propylene. Even though propylene was favored over propane on the as-synthesized ETS-10 material, the gap between the adsorption of both hydrocarbons increases with the Ag content in the Ag-ETS-10 samples. The maximum Ag content achieved in Ag-ETS-10 was 21 wt %, which corresponds with a maximum saturation adsorption capacity measured at 311 K for propylene of 1.02 mmol/g and being at the same conditions of 0.76 mmol/g for propane.
