The article is supposed to complete a first historical outline of the Welsh Patagonian mills published by Melin in 1993. It starts by re-assessing the importance of mills in the colony and it goes on to identify five new mills which had not been surveyed in the first article. To finish with, new lines of research are opened up. The first deals with the existence of skilled labour force for the mills, a fact that is confirmed by several statistical sources. The second pays attention to the origin and use of certain key elements for the functioning of early mills, particularly millstones.
