On the geometry at infinity of the universal covering of Sl(2,R)

Consider the universal covering of Sl(2,R) endowed with the canonical Riemannian metric (one of Thurston´s eight geometries). For this space we give the lines, characterize asymptotic geodesics, study the topology of the space of asymptotic classes, and compute the spread, a Riemannian invariant defined by J. E. D´Atri which reflects the long-time behavior of geodesics.
