Resumen:
The mostconvenientwaytopreparestructuredmanganeseoxidecatalystforthecombustionofvolatile organic compoundswasstudied.Thepreparationconditions(solidconcentrationintheslurry,theaddi- tion ofasuspensionstabilizer,andtheimmersionnumbers)werestudied.Thecatalyticpropertiesof these catalystswereevaluatedinethanol,ethylacetateandtoluenecombustion.Thesurfaceareaand the catalyticactivityofmonolithsinVOCscombustionincreasedwiththeamountofcatalystretained. A highercatalystloadingandamorehomogeneousandwelladheredlayerwasobtainedusinga30wt% solid contentsuspensionandperformingtwoimmersions.TheadditionofNyacol® is notnecessaryto improve thestabilityofsuspensionsbecausethesearestablebythemselves.Thewashcoatingofmono- liths witha –-Al2O3 suspended inmanganeseacetatesolutionnotonlyreducesthenumberofstages during thepreparationprocedurebutalsoproducesmoreactivecatalysts.
