Resumen:
The sensitivity of media MYPGP, MYPGPNALPIA A (6 mg/ml nalidixic acid and 10 mg/ml de pipemidic acid) and MYPGPNALPIA B (9 mg/ml nalidixic acid and 20 mg/ml pipemidic acid) for the recovery of viable spores of Paenibacillus larvae subsp. larvae from honey was evaluated by using different incubation times and different spore concentrations. No significant differences among incubation times,  spore concentration  or culture media were found. In the case of recovery of vegetative cells from PBS at different incubation times and different dilutions no significant differences were found among incubation times or dilutions tested,  while significant differences were found among three media when compared between them, providing  MYPGPNALPIAB the lowest recovery of vegetative cells. According to these results, we propose the use of MYPGPNALPIAB to recover spores of P. l. larvae from honey, particularly for  honeys with heterogeneous populations of bacterial spores, and  when culturing vegetative cells MYPGP or MYPGPNALPIAA must be used to obtain good growth.
