Distribution of Lithodes confundens Macpherson 1988 (Decapoda, Anomura) along the Atlantic continental shelf of Southern South America

The two lithodids here reported are spatially segregated on most of the Atlanticcontinental shelf off southern South America. At the southern limit of distributionof Lithodes spp., only Lithodes santolla occurs in the Beagle Channel and thesurroundings of Staten Island. In the Argentine sector of the Beagle Channel,the fishing activity and constant monitoring of this fishery would have allowed thedetection and reporting of any new species among captured lithodids
