Resumen:
a method is described to estimate ploidy in erythrocyte suspension by fluorescence spectrophotometry using a DNA intercalating fluorescent dye. Fluorescence spectrophotometry provided the identification of diploid and polyploid individuals. The DNA fluorescence of South American catfish (Rhamdia sapo) erythrocytes was 15.59% that of the chicken reference. The advantage of this technique is discussed herein
