Resumen:
The catalytic properties of a Pd/Al2O3 coating onto cordierite monolith channels for nitrite reduction in water were studied. This coating was synthesized in two steps. The reaction experiments were carried out at four nitrite concentrations. Different characterization techniques: XRD, XPS, SEM, EDS, were used to study the physicochemical and morphological properties of the catalytic coatings as-synthesized and after the treatment in H2 and the reaction tests. The structured catalyst obtained was active and stable in the nitrite reduction reaction and also had the advantage of generating low amounts of ammonium, thus indicating a good selectivity to nitrogen.
