Resumen:
This paper introduces an automatic poaching detection system that utilizes the elemental node processing concept along with its fundamentals and protocols. The system employs small autonomous stations equipped with basic processing capabilities, yet it achieves high precision in gunshot detection. This is made possible through the combined processing of a network of wirelessly interconnected nodes using a bidirectional protocol. The results obtained from this approach are comparable to those achieved with a centralized processing unit of higher computational power. Once the detections are validated using a collaborative and distributed verification algorithm, they are stored with time and date labels, enabling statistical analysis and immediate alerts for poaching incidents in remote areas.
