Resumen:
Our work has been primarilyfocused on narrowing the boundaries of the genus Cheilanthes (Cheilantheae, Pteridaceae) to move towards itsmonophyletic circumscription. As a consequence, we found that it is necessaryto transfer incertae sedis species of Cheilanthes,Doryopteris and Pellaea from Africa and Madagascar, to two previously describedpaleotropical genera, which need to be recovered and redefined. A taxonomicsynopsis and the new combinations are provided. Also, we discussed thetaxonomic implications of this proposal in the three mentioned genera.
