Open peer commentary on the article “The Ontological and Epistemological Influence of Talcott Parsons’s Analytical Realism on Niklas Luhmann’s Operative Constructivism The Influence of Parsons on Luhmann” by Pedro Martín Giordano. Abstract: Expanding on Giordano’s proposition that Parsons’s analytical realism could be considered a precursor to constructivist theories, I explore this idea further by initiating a conversation with genetic epistemology. This is followed by an examination of the significance of the “frame of reference” concept in the context of Luhmann’s operative constructivism.
