Resumen:
The integration of clean energy generation with wastewater treatment holds promise foraddressing both environmental and energy concerns. Focusing on photocatalytic hydrogenproduction and wastewater treatment, the study introduces PdIn/TiO2 catalysts for thesimultaneous removal of the pharmaceutical contaminant paracetamol and hydrogen production.Physicochemical characterization showed a high distribution of Pd and In on the support as well asa high interaction with it. The Pd and In deposition enhances the light absorption capability andsignificantly improved HER in comparison to TiO2 not only in the electrolyte but also in presenceof paracetamol. Regarding PTM oxidation, TiO2 and PdIn/TiO2 showed an irreversible behaviortoward the PTM oxidation, limited by the adsorption of species on the electrode surface. Thus, PdIndopedTiO2 stands out as a promising catalyst, showcasing enhanced physicochemical propertiesand superior catalytic performance. This underscores its potential for both environmentalremediation and sustainable hydrogen production.
