De lo analógico a la digitalización de las colecciones de la División Arqueología del Museo de La Plata (Argentina)

This article presents the current status of the digitization of the archaeological collections from the División Arqueología of the Museo de La Plata, which resulted in the creation of a digital repository. In the last two years, we have dedicated intensely to three main tasks: 1) standardization of databases, using standards and thesauri comparable to those used in other scientific-academic institutions in Argentina and abroad; 2) systematic photographic record of the collections, following explicit procedures and unified parameters for the digitization of objects and documents, as well as for the storage of the generated files and 3) creation of Culturalis, an open access digital repository, to make the information public, reduce the manipulation of collections and simplify their remote consultation. With all this, we seek to facilitate the management, research, teaching, conservation, and dissemination of the heritage of the Museo de La Plata, in pursuit of the public circulation of knowledge.
