Resumen:
Argentina, due to its immense geographic extension, has a surprising variety of plant species, and the province of Córdoba stands out as one of the main suppliers of native aromatic and medicinal species to the national market. Most of these plants come from the Western Departments of the province, a region that is home to a great diversity of these species. In recent years, high schools in this region have been working hard on learning and preserving local flora. These efforts include the study of different varieties of plants, their cultivation methods, properties, and popular uses. Simultaneously, teachers and researchers from the Universidad Nacional de Río Cuarto have carried out exhaustive research on medicinal plants, evaluating various biological properties, such as their antimicrobial, cytotoxic, anti-inflammatory capacity, among others. As part of a scientific communication project, a series ofactivities were carried out in middle-level schools in the Córdoba region with the purpose of communicating the vast experiences accumulated over years of research by teachers and researchers to students and the community in general. These activities included theoretical and practical aspects and culminated in the writing of a scientific communication document titled "A pharmacy in the mount." This book explores the significance of indigenous plants and their pharmacological potential, while also advocating for the conservation of these species to empower students in the region to become disseminators of this knowledge. High school students and society benefit from being recipients of the scientific studies carried out to date, which have increased awareness about the importance of native vegetation in ecosystems and their conservation to maintain balance ecological and make the most of its medicinal properties.
