SETIC: An Educational Software About the Functioning of Computer Parts

In this paper, we present the design and development of a prototype called SETIC, a software for teaching information and communication technology (ICT) concepts. SETIC´s prototype incorporates several multimedia resources and is intended for secondary school students who need to learn a wide variety of abstract concepts related to ICT. SETIC was designed following the MeiSE methodology that combines a traditional cycle of life system development with agile methods considering a pedagogical point of view as an added value to the software. Although SETIC is not finished, the first evaluations did it by teachers allowed appreciate that SETIC will be a good tool for teaching Informatics concepts.
