We analyze the forms that social and filial ties acquired in relation to the circulation of minors, particularly females, in the Río de la Plata region during late colonial times. Our focus is on the rights and obligations involved in the relationship, the weight of labor charges, and the violence that was exercised, especially when the sexuality of minors was implicated. We examine judicial processes in the city of Buenos Aires, in which power over the fate of girls was deliberated on. Family conformity is studied, as well as the trajectories of minors. Research findings represent an attempt to reflect on the consequences for socio-family frameworks and the life experiences of those involved.
