Globalization, Neoliberalism, and State’s Transformation: Origins of the Fall of the West and the Rise of the East

In this article, we analyzed the political and economic transformations through the years thatimplied a profound transformation of the state around the world. This was approached from a historicalanalysis that was key to understanding the changes produced by the crisis of the international system bythe end of the Cold War. The spread of economic globalization (because of the expansion and ForeignDirect Investment) as well as the consequent transformation of the state in its roles and functioning arerelevant for the analysis. For instance, the oil crisis of the seventies, the consequent economictransformations of the eighties, the crisis in the states and their transformations, as well as the globalimpact that Foreign Direct Investment had after the end of the Cold War.
