Resumen:
In book V of Ovid´s Fasti the poet presents the celebration of the Floralia, which extends from the end of April to the beginning of May. This commemoration allows Ovid to cross the aetiological narrative with some metapoetic aspects of his own poetic praxis. Indeed, the episode relates not only to the ovidian literary corpus, but also to its metamorphic universe. Through Flora´s character the poet displays the idea of reflexivity of the poetic act. We will try then to explore in this tale of the Fasti how the construction of ritual and political celebration of Roman origins interacts with the ovidian conception of literary writing.
