Resumen:
tract The assessment of water vulnerability andpollution hazard traditionally places particular emphasison the study on groundwaters more than on surfacewaters. Consequently, a GIS-based Lake PollutionHazard Index (LPHI) was proposed for assessing andmapping the potential pollution hazard for shallow lakesdue to the interaction between the Potential PollutantLoad and the Lake Vulnerability. It includes easilymeasurable and commonly used parameters: land cover, terrain slope and direction, and soil media.
