Resumen:
Introducción al dossier, en colaboración con Sarissa Carneiro (PUC, Chile)In light of this affective turn, we propose a dossier centered on the passional dimension of certain texts from the colonial period, including a wide spectrum that is both geographic (from central viceroyalties, such as New Spain and Peru, to the margins of the empire, such as Río de la Plata and Chile), chronologic (from the 16th to the 18th century) and generic (letters of relation, chronicles and histories, legal documents and epic, elegiac and lyric poetry). We propose a temporal order of the essays with the purpose of emphasizing the importance of the colonial contexts and processes in the construction of affective rhetoric adapted to the American space.
