Resumen:
Two new species of the Osmundaceae are described from the Early Jurassic of Chubut province, central Patagonia, Argentina. The descriptions are based on numerous compression and impression specimens with well-preserved details on both vegetative and reproductive fronds. Todites cacereii sp. nov is characterized by bipinnate fronds with oblong falcate pinnules. Fertile fronds are morphologically similar to sterile ones, but covered by sporangia on the abaxial side. Exceptionally preserved specimens allow the description of sporangial and spore features. Osmundopsis rafaelii sp. nov is characterized by sterile fronds with oblong serrate pinnules. Fertile pinnae bear oblong reduced pinnules with shortly stalked sporangia in the abaxial side. The phylogenetic meaning of Todites and Osmundopsis is discussed, and the temporal implications of the new species analyzed.
