Resumen:
HIGHLIGHTS Stromal cells have differential effects on sequential steps ofmegakaryocyte development. HUVECs and human skin fibroblasts enhance megakaryocyteproliferation, whereas the murine fibroblast cell line L929 has aninhibitory effect. Proplatelet formation is promoted by HUVECs, but mesenchymalstem cells, skin fibroblasts, and L929 inhibit thrombopoiesis. Mesenchymal stem cells and skin fibroblasts promote megakaryocytesurvival. Megakaryocytes reciprocally modify stromal cell morphology andfeatures.
