Resumen:
Although the Cuyo Basin infilling is one of the most extended Triassic continental successions in western Argentina, records of amniotes are fairly rare in these rocks. The non-therapsid record includes Cuyosuchus huenei Reig, 1961, a taxon based on a pooly preserved specimen, the phylogenertic position of which is discussed and reevaluated herein. This specimen represents the only unequivocal skeletal record of archosauriforms in this basin. Cuyosuchus appears to be more closely related with archosaurs than with basal archosauriforms, as were proposed previously by other authors.
