Resumen:
Twenty five years ago, the Comisión Técnica Mixta del Frente Marítimo published the catalogue of marine decapod and stomatopod crustaceans registered in coastal, continental slope and deep waters of Argentina (Boschi et al., 1992), that included 93 species of decapods. Later, a list of decapods of Uruguay appeared with 107 species (Zolessi y Philippi, 1995). Since then, the development of molecular techniques, the revalorization of taxonomy associated with the aknowledgement of biodiversity as capital of humanity, and the increase of biological invasions due to commercial exchange and global climate change, make necessary a review of previous papers. This catalogue included the addition and removal of species and an actualization of the published bibliography related with them. The study area comprises estuaries and marine coasts of the Southwestern Atlantic Ocean in front of Uruguay and Argentina (33-55ºS), as well as the corresponding continental slope, talud, islands and abysms. In addition, the decapod fauna of Southern Ocean near the southern tip of America has been taken into account. An amount of 191 species of decapod crustaceans are listed in this catalogue: 75 of shrimps and prawns (Dendrobranchiata y Caridea), 30 of king crabs, hermit crabs and the kind (Anomura) and 73 of true crabs (Eubrachyura). Three families of Dendrobranchiata and 16 of Pleocyemata (3 of Caridea, and 11 of Eubrachyura) not cited by Boschi et al. (1992) have been registered, as well as 2 infra-orders of Pleocyemata (Gebiidea and Polychelidae). The additions to Boschi et al., (1992) list are of species: 1) only cited previously in costal waters of Uruguay, 2) from deep and/or southern waters, 3) coastal invaders y 4) new, described for the first time in the southern tip of América. Six species cited in previous papers have been excluded due to synonymy or mistakes in geographic location, and 14 have been renamed.
