Resumen:
Analytical method validation is the first step forquantitative analysis, and both validation andquantitation are usual and fundamental tasks inanalytical work; hence it is extremely important toperform them in the most rigorous way to obtainquality results. Then, in this sense, are we ableto answer the question: is standard additioncalibration enough for reliable result estimations?Systematic errors due to matrix effects must beidentified and corrected for an accurate analytequantitative determination; this is possible whenexternal calibration, standard addition calibrationand Youden calibration are performed together. The multiplicity of combinations of analytes, sample matrix and analytical techniques for methodvalidation and subsequent analyte quantitation arevery attractive and stimulating for students ofadvanced Analytical Chemistry courses becausethey can work with ?real samples? through theintegration of knowledge and skills previouslyacquired in order to obtain reliable results. In fact, the basis of this work can be extended to research, industrial, and/or any application area where thevalidation of a method is required for furtheraccurate quantitative determination. In the presentwork spectrophotometric experiments for thevalidation of three UV-Visible methodologieswere adopted and carried out with real samples.
