The Institutional Networks oriented to Problem Solving (RIOSP) are the association of research groups that belong to Science and technology Organizations and public and/or private Institutions. These networks address complex and significant problems for the development of the social and productive context as well as situations of risk or threats.
Based on the definition of a thematic area of interest/vacancy proposed by the institutions that demanded it, a multidisciplinary group will be created with a medium/long-term project that will require an understanding of the problem from the original design. Likewise, this type of research raises the need to make permanent adjustments as the work plan is executed. In this case, the recipients become participatory partners and evaluators of the R+D product in process.
This does not imply research work but the use of already available knowledge. The expected products are: diagnostics and technical reports for public and private decision makers; support and advice in the drafting of regulations; plans; programs and projects; identification of vacant areas in research and/or training of Human Resources necessary to address long-term problems; and the detection of technical needs in the public and/or private sector at a general level and which can then be channeled through other instruments for technology transfer.
This new form of knowledge production proposes to go beyond the linear model of scientific research, provide innovative solutions, often original, but also adaptive and of an inter or transdisciplinary nature.
