CONICET signs international agreements with its counterparts abroad for the execution of scientific research and technological development tasks.

The procedures begin once the International Cooperation Office has confirmed the correct receipt and review of the documentation.

The procedures take approximately 60 business days, depending on the case.

An MTA is a contract that governs the transfer of tangible research material between two organizations for research purposes.

International law establishes that the entry or exit of materials to and from abroad requires this instrument to formalize and regulate the use of samples.

MTAs are signed by CONICET at the express request of researchers belonging to the Council.

CONICET will provide institutional support for its research groups’ applications to foreign entities and will also appoint administrators and sign agreements setting out the terms of collaboration between the groups involved.

This endorsement consists of an administrative act that is issued only when CONICET is the beneficiary entity associated with a project to be financed by a foreign entity.

Only active members of the Scientific Research Career (CIC) may apply for endorsement.

Important

Applications that contravene current CIC regulations will not be endorsed.

The process will begin once the International Cooperation Office has confirmed that the documentation has been received and checked.

The process takes approximately 10 to 15 working days. Endorsements will not be processed if the application deadline is less than this period.

This endorsement consists of an administrative act that is issued only when CONICET is the beneficiary entity associated with a project to be financed by a foreign entity. CONICET will endorse the terms of collaboration between the parties involved and appoint a fund administrator, who will receive the financing granted for the development of activities within the framework of the project.

Only active members of the Scientific Research Career (CIC) may apply for endorsement.

Endorsements will only be issued for the execution of projects awarded by foreign entities that have requested the endorsement in a timely manner.

This endorsement consists of an administrative act that is issued only when CONICET is the beneficiary entity associated with a project to be funded by NIH. CONICET will endorse the terms of collaboration between the parties involved and appoint a fund administrator, who will receive the funding granted for the development of activities within the framework of the project.

Only active members of the Scientific Research Career (CIC) may apply for endorsement.

Endorsements will only be issued for projects awarded by foreign entities that have requested the endorsement in a timely manner.

It is mandatory to declare knowledge of CONICET’s Conflict of Interest Policy and to complete the NIH course on FCOI.

The documentation to be submitted to the Office of International Cooperation for the granting of Institutional Endorsement is as follows:

The submission must contain all the documentation requested in the section Institutional Endorsement for Submission to Foreign Calls for Proposals, to which the following must be added:

1. Agreement(s) to be signed (Grant Agreement, Consortium Agreement, Partnership Agreement, Secondment Agreement, Contract, and/or Forms sent by the Foreign Agency to be signed by CONICET).
2. Screenshot of the project entry in SIGEVA in the “Science and Technology Funding” section.
3. Note on the project’s funding sources, indicating the amounts requested from each institution and a detailed budget.
4. Affidavit for the execution of external funding to be signed by the project leader in Argentina and the highest authority at their CONICET workplace.
5. NIH Execution Guarantee Request Form to be signed by the project leader in Argentina and the highest authority at their CONICET workplace.
6. Conflict of Interest Policy Annexes to be signed by the project leader in Argentina.

The documentation must be sent in .pdf format to avalesinternacionales@conicet.gov.ar and coopint@conicet.gov.ar with the subject line: Institutional Endorsement for NIH Implementation – (Name of the Argentine principal investigator) – (Project Title-NIH Call for Proposals).

The Office of International Cooperation issues Letters of Invitation for foreign researchers who need to enter the Argentine Republic to carry out activities within the framework of an international cooperation project approved under CONICET Programs.

Entry permit instructions.

Important

CIC researchers who need to apply for a visa for foreign colleagues and are not part of institutional initiatives must register with RENURE to process the application.

CIC researchers can request the signing of specific agreements for the execution of research activities that do not involve institutional funding. The first step is to submit the agreement request form and notify the corresponding CCT/OCA/EU.

Calls for proposals. It is also recommended to consult the International Cooperation Office Agenda.

CONICET provides institutional support for the presentation of its research groups to calls for proposals from foreign entities. Only CIC researchers may request institutional support.

CONICET will designate administrators and will sign agreements that set the terms of execution between the groups involved when funding is awarded. Only CIC researchers may request institutional endorsement.

It is the responsibility of the researchers to request an MTA (Material Transfer Agreement) in these cases. The first step is to send an e-mail with the request to conveniosinternacionales@conicet.gov.ar CC to the corresponding CCT/OCA/EU.

The International Cooperation Office processes the Letter of Invitation for foreign researchers who, within the framework of a project funded by CONICET or an institutional initiative, spend up to three (3) months in Argentina and whose host is a CONICET CIC researcher.

The National Directorate for International Cooperation (DNCIN) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship, through an agreement with the International Organization for Migration (IOM), agrees to provide a benefit by granting special fares on airline tickets agreed globally with various airlines for all those who have received a scholarship, invitation or admission to pursue doctorates, postgraduate academic studies, master’s degrees, internships, seminars, conferences and lectures abroad.
