This special issue of The Journal of Supercritical Fluids is dedicated to the V Iberoamerican Conference on Supercritical Fluids (PROSCIBA), which took place in September 2nd – 6th, 2019 in Campinas, Brazil. This issue will contain works that were presented in PROSCIBA, and after that they will be submitted and pass the standard revision procedure of The Journal of Supercritical Fluids.PROSCIBA is a technical conference focusing on supercritical fluid fundamentals and technologies, which promotes the exchange of information and experience in the Iberoamerican countries, but also welcomes researches from all over the world. This conference results from the efforts of South American research groups that began promoting local meetings in 1994. These meetings have grown and become international along the years. Our goals are to intensify our collaborations, attract more research groups and make supercritical technology a reality in the Iberoamerican
