Resumen:
Colloidal core-shell structures have broad applications in optical devices, catalysis and smart reinforcers. In this context, the synthesis of multilayer hierarchical colloidal structures stands our as chemical and physical responsive units. Briefly, silica core particles were obtained using Stober´s method while multiple layered mesoporous shell synthesis employed different alkoxide precursors and cationic surfactants as soft templates for pore synthesis. Controlling variable reactions such as precursor and seed silica cores concentration we were able to tailor the layer thickness and chemical composition of these mesoporous core shell colloids. These results were confirmed using FTIR, EDS, XPS and TEM.
