Resumen:
In this contribution, we present an investigation of the transport properties of La0.75Sr0.25MnO3 (LSMO) / LaNiO3 (LNO) multilayers. LSMO is a ferromagnetic and metallic manganite below room temperature, and LNO is a paramagnetic metal. In a previous work, we performed a characterization of the magnetic anisotropy and interlayer coupling in LSMO/LNO/LSMO trilayers with different LNO thicknesses. We observed an oscillatory coupling as a function of LNO thickness [1]. In this work we present electric transport measurements performed with an applied magnetic field in the plane of the samples. We characterized the electric response of both coupled and uncoupled trilayers, and studied the correlation of the magnetoresistance with the magnetic properties of each sample and with the LNO thickness. We measured a giant magnetoresistance effect for samples with LNO thickness thinner than 3.5nm, being this length similar to the mean free path of the charge carriers in LNO.
