Resumen:
Fourteen Latin American governments deployed digital technology to control the Covid-19pandemic. Covid-19 apps can be differentiated by their features, privacy vulnerabilities, andadoption levels. Most importantly, there are differences in the level of data protection andprivacy that they provide, with some apps like Guatemala?s and Paraguay?s not having anyprivacy policy for their applications nor any personal data protection law. This chapter addressdifferent problems that hinder widespread use of these technologies in Latin American, and howthis has unintentionally and unexpectedly protected personal data.
