Resumen:
In this work a new constitutive relation is presented to model the flow of granular materials. In this relation, the granular materials are simulated as a Non-Newtonian fluid. The formulation begins with the general expression for the stress tensor presented by Savage. New concepts from the theory of critical state are used to obtain a new plastic discontinuity function and the stress tensor. Finally, the problem of flow in the inclined channel is solved as simple example to compare results with experimental evidence. Good agreement is found for this one dimensional problem.
