Resumen:
Taken together, our results support Gal-3 as a novelextracellular mediator of glial crosstalk to promote accelerated OLG maturationand to favor remyelination. Future studies will be necessary to evaluatepossible pathways for non-invasive delivery of Gal-3 to the CNS and strategies tospecifically target oligodendroglial precursors. These studies may have majorsignificance in the development of future therapies for a variety ofdemyelinating diseases and especially for MS.
