Resumen:
Ethanol steam reforming reaction for hydrogen production was studied using Ni catalysts supported over MgAl2O4 doped with Ce and Pr. The influence of the Ni salt was analyzed. The Ni impregnation was carried out using two nickel sources: nitrate (Nt) and  acetate (Ac). The final catalysts were obtained by thermal decomposition of precursor under a reductive atmosphere. Ce doped catalysts showed lower activity losses.     Ni(Ac)/MgAl2O4-CeO2 catalyst was the most active (residual conversion = 97.1%) and stable (loss activity = 2.2%) under the experimental conditions (ethanol concentration = 7.8%, molar ratio H2O:C2H5OH = 4.9, TR = 650 °C y W/F = 49 g min mol-1). The hydrogen selectivity was 74% and the main products were CO2 and CO.
