Resumen:
Cadmium 􀀊Cd􀀋 is a toxic metal and an important environmental contaminant. 􀀹e studied its effects on apoptosis and inflammation mar􀁍ers, leucocytes inbronchoalveolar lavages 􀀊􀀤AL􀀋 and the histoarchitecture of rat lung underdifferent diets 􀀖 lots of female 􀀹istar rats 􀁙ere used􀀜 􀀔 lots received casein􀀊Cas􀀋 and 􀀔 lots s oybean 􀀊Soy􀀋 as protein sources. 􀀹ithin each group, 􀀓 lotreceived regular 􀁙ater 􀀊control􀀏Co􀀋 and the other, 􀀓􀀗 ppm of Cd in the drin􀁍ing􀁙ater for 􀀘􀀒 days. 􀀤AL 􀁙as performed and cells obtained 􀁙ere counted. Lungs􀁙ere fixed, sectioned, stained, and examined for evidence of injury. Total 􀀴􀀰A􀁙as isolated 􀁙ith Trizol and c􀀦􀀰A 􀁙as obtained. Alveolar macrophages decreased in Soy􀀏Cdvs Soy􀀏Co 􀀊p􀀞􀀒,􀀒􀀗􀀋􀀝 neutrophils in 􀀤AL augmented in Soy􀀏Cd vsCas􀀏Cd and So􀀏Co 􀀊p􀀞􀀒,􀀒􀀓􀀋􀀝 lymphocytes increased in Cas􀀏Cdvs Cas􀀏Co 􀀊p􀀞􀀒,􀀒􀀓􀀋 and in Soy􀀏Cd vs Soy􀀏Co 􀀊p􀀞􀀒,􀀒􀀗􀀋. 􀀰F􀀏􀁎Bsho􀁙ed a significant decreased in Soy groups vs Cas groups􀀊p􀀞􀀒,􀀒􀀒􀀓􀀋 and also decreased in Soy􀀏Cd vs its control 􀀊p􀀞􀀒,􀀒􀀓􀀋.C􀀱􀀺􀀏􀀔 increased in Cas􀀏Cd vs Cas􀀏Co 􀀊p􀀞􀀒,􀀒􀀗􀀋 and decreased inSoy groups vs Cas groups 􀀊p􀀞􀀒,􀀒􀀗􀀋. T􀀩F􀀏􀁅 expression decreasedin Soy􀀏Co and Soy􀀏Cd groups vs Cas groups 􀀊p􀀞􀀒,􀀒􀀒􀀓􀀋. 􀀸CA􀀯􀀏􀀓sho􀁙ed increased levels in Soy􀀏Cd vs its control 􀀊p􀀞􀀒,􀀒􀀗􀀋 and alsoin Soy􀀏Co vs Cas􀀏Co 􀀊p􀀞􀀒,􀀒􀀒􀀗􀀋. p􀀗􀀕 levels sho􀁙ed a decreasedin Soy􀀏Cd vs Cas􀀏Cd 􀀊p􀀞􀀒,􀀒􀀒􀀓􀀋. 􀀤ax/􀀤cl􀀏􀀔 ratio increased in Cas 􀀏Cd vs Cas􀀏Co 􀀊p􀀞􀀒,􀀒􀀗􀀋. Significant morphological changes in lungparenchyma 􀁙ere observed in intoxicated rats 􀁙hen comparedto the control group. 􀀯orphological changes 􀁙ere less severe inSoy􀀏Cd group. This sho􀁙s lung histoarchitecture is altered by C d,􀁙hich is consistent 􀁙ith the change in apoptotic and inflammationmar􀁍ers, and Soy might protect lung against the metal.
