Resumen:
In this talk I present a study of the ground state phase diagram of a frustrated spin-1/2 four-leg tube using a variety of complementary techniques, namely density matrix renormalization group, exact diagonalization, Schwinger boson mean field theory, quantum Monte-Carlo, series expansion, analysis of low-energy effective Hamiltonian and Hartree variational approach. I will present results in two cases: with an external magnetic field and without magnetic field. At zero magnetic field we find several gapped ground states, namely a plaquette, an incommensurate, and an antiferromagnetic quasi spin-2 chain phase. With the inclusion of an external magnetic field, in the limit of weakly interacting plaquettes, low-energy singlet, triplet and quintuplet states play an important role in the formation of fractional magnetization plateaux. We study the transition between phases numerically and analytically. At the end I will mention possible comparisons related with compounds such as Cu2Cl4.D8C4SO2 at low temperatures
