Resumen:
Herein we report a preliminary study showing an association between consumption of dietary Zn and Se with overweight (OW), Ob (obesity), and HTN (arterial hypertension); and how it relates to gender and age in a population of adult patients from San Luis City, Argentina. This ongoing population-based study included 102 adult male and female between 18 and 80 years-old. A validated food-frequency questionnaire was used to assess socio-demographic data, dietary intake of Zn and Se, nutritional status (body mass index, BMI, Kg/m2); and systolic (SBP)/diastolic (DBP) blood pressure (HTN: SBP>120/DBP>80).
