Morphometric relationships in females, males and intersex females of the freshwater crayfish, Cherax quadricarinatus (Decapoda, Parastacidae)  The present work was aimed at comparing the morphometric relationships between length and weight, including meat production of the pleon in males, females and intersex females of the freshwater crayfish, Cherax quadricarinatus (“red claw”). A total number of 388 males, 184 females and 185 intersex females from a local dealer were measured and weighted. The weight ranges were 0,05-158g, 0,05-110,25g and 0,11-134,65g respectively. The first results of this study show that intersex females represent a morphometric different sexual type from females and males. Although they are females from the gonadal point of view with normal ovaries and oviducts the weight of their pleon is greater than the pleon of the males  while the measures of their chelipeds are similar to the females. The morphometric relationships analyzed in this study would be related to the beginning of the reproductive functionality in C. quadricarinatus
