Resumen:
The oxygen-deficient perovskite PrBaCo2O5.75 was prepared by solid-state reaction followed by well-definedannealing and cooling conditions. The oxygen content was measured by thermogravimetric analyses and neutrondiffraction. The structural and magnetic properties of this cobaltite that formally corresponds to Co4+/Co3+=1:3 havebeen investigated. Although neutron data are consistent with a tetragonal apap2ap cell, synchrotron measurementsrevealan orthorhombic symmetry and the doubling of the b-axis owing to the ordering of oxygen vacancies along a.PrBaCo2O5.75 presents antiferromagnetic order below TNE140 K. From neutron diffraction, using a single moment Gtypemodel, the ordered moment at 2K is found to be 1.14(6)mB/Co ion.
