Resumen:
The present paper will show the study case of a fish ladder pre-design for the Villa María dam(on the Tercero river, Córdoba province). The dam represents a barrier that interrupts the migration of fish fauna. This situation affects the preservation of the different fish species in the system and interrupts the migration for the purpose of reproduction and feeding. The fish ladder is an adequate solution to the obstacle produced by the dam in the continuity of the river. Based on available bibliographic data and background information, a fish scale pre-design was defined with a pool sequence connected by submerged weirs, for the migratory species that inhabit the area. In this work, the flow conditions at the scale were simulated using computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
