Resumen:
Knowledge of the structure of the water balance of lagoons, surface andunderground basins is essential to achieve a more rational use of waterresources in space and time, as well as to improve their control andredistribution.The Picasa lagoon basin is an interjurisdictional endorheic basinbetween the provinces of Córdoba, Santa Fe and Buenos Aires in the ArgentineRepublic that has suffered in recent time?s recurrent floods caused byincreases in the level of the lagoon affecting infrastructure, transportationand agricultural activity.The present work has a lagoon-scale approach. In the topo-bathymetricstudy, a Digital Elevation Model (DEM) of the lagoon was defined by means ofbackground collection, field survey and data processing. And in the hydrologicalstudy, a DO water balance model was developed. The rainfall excesses thatimpacted on the lagoon were analyzed and quantified for their evacuation with agravity, pumping or combined system.The main objective was to define allowed ranges of water levels in thelagoon and use it as a tool to evaluate hydrological situations.
