Resumen:
Recently, devices such as cellular phones, portable computersand digital agendas have experienced a great development. The commercialsuccess of these products greatly depends on the battery life. Althoughbatteries have improved considerably, microprocessors are more and morepower-hungry. This paper presents a new alternative for controlling energyconsumption in soft real-time applications. A resource reservation paradigmworking under Earliest Deadline First scheduling is applied. The bandwidthreserved is determined by using an adaptive predictor and afeedback algorithm.  This dynamical adjustment permits to scale the frequencyand voltage of the processor, reducing the consumed energy. The usefulnessof the proposed technique is illustrated via experimental results.
