Mixed- Gas adsorption on heterogeneous substrates in the presence of lateral ad- ad interactions

Adsorption of binary gas mixtures in the presence of ad- ad interactions is studied through grand canonical Monte Carlo simulation in the framework of the lattice- gas model. The disordered surface has been characterized by parches of shallow and deep sites, arranged in a chessboard- like topography. The adsorption process is monitored through pertiat and total isotherms, and differential heats of adsorption. Interesting behaviors have been observed depending on ad- ad interactions and energetic disorder.
