Resumen:
Abstract: The fissiparity of A. inaequalis could be of genetic origin. While arms are in the first stage of regeneration, gonads of intact arms are in recovery phase. Biochemical studies show no nutrient transfer from pyloric caeca to gonads at recovery phase. Energy is spent in asexual reproduction. High frequency of fission and strong sexual unbalance. We conclude that this population is maintained mainly by fission.
